One of the things I touched on in my last post was that I am really striving to be a better wife, mother, and friend in 2018. As a parent, it can be so easy to put friends on the back burner because of how busy we all are! The great thing about old friends is that you don’t have to explain anything — they usually just get it.
I have a few girlfriends in particular that every time we get together, we instantly feel fifteen again. We don’t try to impress each other, we’re always open and honest, and it’s just… easy. One of my girlfriends, Lauren, just so happens to be an INCREDIBLE photographer. She just started an adorable blog of her own, called @lifelayerslenses. Go check her out and give her a follow! You will not be disappointed. She is actually the one who took my most recent set of photos in this gorgeous little coffee shop on Greenville Ave in Dallas. We had so much fun!
Now on to my outfit. Can I just mention how obsessed I am with stripes and all things 70’s?! I have a problem when it comes to striped tops and can always justify a new one because I feel like they are all special in their own way….
This one is from Urban Outfitters and a new favorite of mine! I just LOVE the colors for spring and feel like it’s the perfect transitional piece for this time of year. It also makes SUCH a statement, don’t ya think? I am also wearing my favorite Gucci Dupe belt (it’s under $20 and tricks people every time) and my go-to mom jeans by Madewell. My jeans are TTS and I am wearing a size 25 waist for reference. I finished the look with my favorite brown booties — I am not ashamed to say that I wear these boots in almost every outfit you see me in! They are just that good.
Long story short, making time for your girlfriends is good for the soul. Whether it’s a quick coffee date or a full day of taking pictures together, make it happen! I know it did me a lot of good last week. 🙂
